About This Performance

One of the great voices of contemporary literature, Maya Angelou, tells the story of A Woman's Life, to music by Composer of the Year Richard Danielpour. Mennin’s “Moby Dick” distills the tension and the atmosphere of Melville's classic novel into a ten-minute masterpiece. The concert ends with the triumphant and beautiful melodies of Symphony No. 2 by Finnish composer Sibelius.

Dine at Mélange Bistro Bar, a PSO Conductor's Choice Restaurant, and present your ticket/ticket stub from any October 2009 PSO performance to receive 10% off your meal or a free dessert with the purchase of an entrée.* Mélange is located one block from Heinz Hall at 136 Sixth Street.
