Co-Principal Trumpet Charles Lirette performs Tomaso Albinoni's Trumpet Concerto. Two living composers are also featured, as the Chamber Orchestra performs Balada's "Caprichos No. 4" and a mystery piece by PSO Composer of the Year, the award-winning John Corigliano. Plus hear the lush sounds of Brahms' masterful "Sextet in B flat major."



The PSO is proud to present 2007/2008 Composer of the Year, John Corigliano, winner of a Pulitzer Prize (Symphony No. 1) and an Oscar for Best Film Score (The Red Violin). With chamber music, opera and symphonies in his repertoire, Corigliano is a prolific composer who has changed the landscape of new music, and a leader in the current trend toward communicative new music that is embraced by large audiences.
