About This Performance

Using both traditional orchestra and programmed electronic music, Bates’ Liquid Interface is a musical exploration of the nature of water, from breaking ice, water droplets, the destructive force of hurricanes and the gentle flow of water. Pastime by Composer of the Year Danielpour celebrates baseball legends Josh Gibson, Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron. Bernstein’s work is an arrangement of dances from the musical comedy On the Town. The concert ends with audience favorite An American in Paris, a musical story of an American experiencing the energy of Paris.
