About This Performance

Please note that this program has changed since its original publication in the 2008/2009 BNY Mellon Grand Classics brochure. Bruckner Symphony No. 7 was originally programmed on this concert as opposed to Bruckner Symphony No. 4.
Famed pianist Garrick Ohlsson performs Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, perhaps the most transcendent of the composer's five piano concertos. The Symphony No. 4 is one of the most popular and moving of Bruckner's nine monumental symphonies and a signature work for Honeck.

Play the video to the left to hear Manfred Honeck talking about Beethoven from Beethoven's apartment in Vienna.
