About This Performance


The PSO celebrates the 75th birthday of one of the most influential film composers of all time. John Williams' list of film scores is astonishing: Jaws, Schindler's List, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Harry Potter, Superman, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars and so much more! This icon of film and music has 43 Academy Award nominations, with more surely to come. Join famed Cincinnati Pops conductor Erich Kunzel, in our salute to this acclaimed composer.

The first half of the performance features many of John William's most famous compositions. The second half is a suite of music from the six Star Wars films:
