About This Performance
Poulenc’s Sinfonietta is light, rhythmic and satirical. Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme is a masterful cello concerto that weaves variations around a theme composed in the style of Mozart. The beloved Four Seasons describes the passing year through music – the renewed wonder of spring, an energetic summer thunderstorm, boisterous celebration in autumn and the cold, brisk onset of winter.
