Back to March 9 - Go to March 11

Ft. Lauderdale, FL

It was an early departure this morning; we went across Florida on “Florida’s turnpike.” The landscape was much different than that of the Gainesville area. Luckily the weather was nice as you can see in today’s photos.

After going to the beach, we stopped at “City Cellar” in West Palm Beach for lunch. The search was for fresh seafood dipped in butter and cooked on the grill. It was not on the menu so we asked the waiter if the chef would make it….he did and … It was fantastic! It was served on a bed of steamed spinach and risotto. Other customers at nearby tables saw our meals and asked the waiter to order it. I think that it may appear on the menu soon! Dessert was southern pecan pie with ice cream and whipped cream. WOW! This beats Gainesville’s 7 layer chocolate cake. I don’t see how the food can be any better in Sarasota...

The Broward Center is impressive…very large and new. It had good acoustics and facilities. The concert went well!

It’s only a 4 hour drive in the morning as opposed to today’s 6 hour drive; that will leave more time for practice and biking.
