Day 4 : Travel to Sarasota |
|
| We left for Sarasota at 10 am after breakfast and a short bike ride along the beach road. The weather was perfect and the drive interesting. The route took us due West on the Everglades expressway (Route 75) which is straight as an arrow, free of road billboards and few rest stops. Many alligators were sunning themselves along the canals that parallel the highway so we didn’t stop. | |

Lunch at Jack’s Marina consisted of grilled seafood and a pie that set new standards for the tour…it was a brownie crust with a filling of macadamia nut ice cream and topped with whipped cream. I don’t know why I raved about any of the other sweets on this tour; I must have out of my mind because this was delicious. |

| Looks like a very full house tonight! We have a 2pm concert on Saturday and that leaves the evening open for a good dinner. Often on tour this is impossible because restaurants open at 6pm just as we are preparing for the show and close at 10pm just before we get out of the hall. There is a Ritz Carlton next door that is targeted for dinner. | |
