Tommy Thompson demonstrates
The single flat clarinet reed is fastened to the back of the instrument’s mouthpiece with a band called a ligature. These bands can be simple ones of metal, or of high-tech materials such as the plastic arrangement used here by PSO’s Tommy Thompson.
