Join musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for East Meets West: Influences of China on U.S. Art, a program celebrating the works of Chinese composer Qigang Chen, Taiwanese composer Tyzen Hsiao, and Chinese poet Huang Xiang—City of Asylum’s first writer-in-residence. Preeminent Chinese conductor Long Yu will join PSO Associate Conductor Earl Lee to discuss the unique character, identity, and activism of the evening’s featured composers and poets, whose works will be brought to life through chamber performances and readings by local writers.
