Our exploration of the American soundscape continues in Part 2 of “For the People”: a program of works all written in the past 100 years by American composers who shine as an array of diverse and multi-cultural voices and genres, including jazz, anthems, ragtime and the blues. A constellation of five female composers (Jennifer Higdon, Libby Larsen, Jessie Montgomery, Florence Price and Joan Tower) forms the foundation of the two-part program. This episode is led by Conductor Andrés Franco and Guest Concertmaster Alexi Kenney. Front Row concerts are presented for free.
