Larry Baird

As a composer, arranger, and orchestrator of contemporary music, Larry Baird has established a reputation for having a highly creative, intuitive, and fresh approach to repertoire. When on the podium, or in performance, his enthusiasm emanates with unequaled flair, intensity, and passion.

 

Mr. Baird has arranged, orchestrated, conducted, and performed with hundreds of different orchestras and artists throughout the world. He has most recently toured with vocal 'Superstar' and songwriting 'hitmaker', Michael Bolton as Orchestral Music Director / Conductor / Arranger. Mr. Baird has also been the Orchestral Music Director, Conductor, and Arranger for the legendary British band, The Moody Blues since 1992. And, has written, recorded, and conducted for full Symphony Orchestra, two CD's and DVD's with The Moody Blues-A Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra in 1992, and in the year 2000, Hall of Fame with The Moody Blues and the World Festival Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall in London, England.

Mr. Baird has also toured and worked in the same capacity with the innovative, art-rock American band, Kansas, with whom he arranged and conducted the CD, Always Never The Same, which was recorded at the renowned Abbey Road Studios in England with the London Symphony Orchestra.

Since 1999 he has been the Orchestral Music Director/Conductor/Arranger for the unparalleled, vocal powerhouse, hit makers, Three Dog Night with whom he recently recorded the CD, Three Dog Night with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Larry Baird at Abbey Road Studios.

In 1994, Polygram released a 5 CD anthology of The Moody Blues which includes many of the previously unreleased recordings from the Red Rocks concerts of 1992. And, while at the Hollywood Bowl in October of 1994, Mr. Baird received the RIAA gold video award for sales of 50,000 units of The Moody Blues - A Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. In February of 1995, he and The Moody Blues achieved another first when they appeared with a string orchestra on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno performing Tuesday Afternoon.
