Manfred Honeck
Music Director

Manfred Honeck was born in Austria and studied music at the Academy of Music in Vienna. An accomplished violinist and violist, Honeck spent more than 10 years as a member of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. It is this experience that heavily influenced his conducting and helped give it a distinctive stamp.

Principal Pops Conductor

With a contagious smile and captivating charm, the conductor, trumpet virtuoso, singer and actor Byron Stripling has ignited audiences across the globe. Named Principal Pops conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra beginning with the 2020-2021 season, his baton has led orchestras throughout the United States and Canada. He performs frequently as soloist with the Boston Pops Orchestra, and currently is the artistic director and conductor of the highly acclaimed Columbus Jazz Orchestra.

A current Associate Conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and former Resident Conductor of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Earl Lee is a renowned Korean-Canadian performer who has captivated audiences worldwide. Earl's passion for music is reflected in his diverse career as both a conductor and cellist. Highlights of his 2019-20 season include leading the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, return engagements with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and debut performances with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
