Kristina Yoder

First Violin

 

Kristina Yoder is a member of the first violin section of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She received both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School, and a certificate in Performance from Northwestern University. 

A native of Kansas City, Kansas, Kristina Yoder won the Grand Prize in the Naftzger Competition. She has appeared as soloist with orchestras such as the Kansas City Symphony, the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Newton Symphony. 

Kristina Yoder received fellowships to study at the Tanglewood Music Center and the Aspen Summer Music Festival. She has extensive chamber music experience, including many performances at the Yellow Barn Music Festival, among others. Her teachers have included Ronald Copes, Joel Smirnoff, Hyo Kang, Ben Sayevich, Kathy Haid and Almita Vamos. She enjoys teaching violin students of all ages. She resides in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh with her husband, bassist Peter Guild, and two daughters.
