“A Celebration of Summer” Concert
Now available for viewing on demand.

For the first time since early March, we are performing a concert for the public and it's not to be missed! Opening with the lively Praeludieum from Edvard Grieg's Holberg Suite, and closing with the rousing Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa, this concert continues our annual partnership with Allegheny County to present a concert that is free to the public as part of the Allegheny Count Parks Summer Concert Series. More than two dozen members of the strings and percussion sections gathered in June at Hartwood Acres to record this concert that is available here and through the Allegheny County Parks. This concert is sponsored by Robert Peirce & Associates, P.C.

Musical Storytelling

Join us as we partner with the Allegheny Country Library Association for their Virtual Summer Reading Program.  Our week of “Musical Storytelling” explored how music can help tell a story, as well as support the emotions and characters in stories. Three books were featured, Dragon Night, Carnival of the Animals, and The Music in George’s Head and were presented by artists, authors, and musicians. Composer Lucas Richman shared how he created the composition Music Can Make Your Life Complete for the Fiddlesticks Family Series, and joined Fiddlesticks, and PSO musicians to show how everyone can create an original musical story.
