J. R. Krause is the author and illustrator of several beloved picture books including DRAGON NIGHT (G. P. Putnam’s Sons, 2019) and co-author and illustrator of POCO LOCO (Two Lions, 2013) and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, POCO LOCO! (Two Lions, 2016) with Maria Chua.

J. R. Krause grew up in the woodsy town of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, he moved to Los Angeles to work in animation and make children’s books.
